As a member of the Strategy, Communications and Stakeholder Relations team at Ontario Pension Board (OPB), the Corporate Communications Assistant (Intern) supports a range of corporate and external communications activities as part of a collaborative team of professionals. Reporting to the Director, External Communications & Digital Strategy, the Corporate Communications Assistant (Intern) will conduct research on emerging communications trends and best practices and contribute to the development of a social media strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

 

•    Contribute to the development of social media strategies, conducting research and analysis on emerging trends and best practices 
•    Participate in maintaining content calendars, assist with creating engaging content and collateral for digital platforms aligned with brand guidelines 
•    Contribute to writing, editing and proofreading communications materials   
•    Assist with measuring and monitoring social media performance to evaluate effectiveness, recommending approaches and enhancements for audience groups   
•    Support the Strategy, Communications and Stakeholder Relations team with various projects and initiatives as assigned 
 
Key Qualifications:

 

•    Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of post-secondary education in communications, digital media, journalism or a related field 
•    Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite 
•    Knowledge, experience and application of social media channels and associated best practices 
•    Experience conducting research, summarizing findings and outlining recommendations
•    Strong written communication skills including vocabulary and grammar to draft a range of materials and correspondence with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail 
•    Ability to effectively multi-task and manage priorities, adapting to competing objectives in a time-sensitive manner 
•    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to develop relationships and support internal stakeholder teams
