About the role:
An exciting opportunity is available to be part of OPB’s pension modernization program, a multi-year business program encompassing all pension administration operations. This program will transform our business processes and systems to meet the evolving needs of our clients and stakeholders, deliver operational efficiencies, and enhance employee experience with the tools they use to deliver services.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Senior Change Management Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Pension Modernization program. This role is accountable for ensuring that change initiatives achieve their intended outcomes by maximizing employee adoption, engagement, and sustained use of the new pension administration system.
Working in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders, business leaders, and IT partners, the Senior Change Management Lead will support the successful development and delivery of the end-to-end change management strategy. This includes planning, integrating, and executing comprehensive change activities—spanning internal stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and impact measurement—to support successful adoption across the organization.
The successful candidate will bring a collaborative, results-oriented mindset, taking accountability for advancing change initiatives while working closely with partners to ensure the organization is fully prepared to adopt and realize value from the new system.
Key Responsibilities:
In partnership with OPB’s OCM partner:
- Leads internal change management activities, identifying and defining change management impacts and needs, and developing and implementing solutions.
- Applies a structured change management methodology including models, processes, and tools for implementing change management plans.
- Supports the assessment of organizational change readiness arising from the Program, including preparing and conducting assessments to evaluate user readiness and identify and provide recommendations for anticipated resistance or challenges.
- Partnering with key stakeholders, conducts complex impact analyses to assess the change impact of all Program initiatives and projects, working alongside project teams to provide guidance and support on integrating change management activities into all Program project plans and ensuring adherence to change management standards.
- Performs comprehensive evaluations on current and future state to create approaches that enable the organization and its employees to successfully transition from current to future state, monitoring the effectiveness as the organization progresses through change.
- Fosters and maintains effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, external vendor partners; works closely with them to ensure items are being delivered on time.
- Supports Program training efforts, by sharing the identification of user requirements and assist in the design, development, and delivery of training programs.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to create program communication opportunities; gathers information, drafts and coordinates communications across various channels to ensure alignment across the project teams, stakeholders and ensures the organization is informed.
Key Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in change management, business, project management or a related field with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience with progressively complex projects. Demonstrated experience supporting and assisting in the implementation of successful change management initiatives within a complex medium-sized organization(s).
- Proven experience in change management and executing on strategic plans with an understanding of change management principles (Kotter, Bridges, Prosci, ACMP, APMG), methodologies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of project management principles, phases in project lifecycles, and approaches.
- Good business acumen to ensure change management options are responsive and aligned with business priorities/activities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations. Works collaboratively in a team-based environment with an emphasis on building stakeholder relationships to drive successful change.
- Vendor management experience with the ability to build strong relationships with external partners.
- Proficient verbal and written communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills. Customizes approach and communication style to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and research skills to assess the environment, identify and evaluate requirements and present recommendations and solutions for management review and decision making.
- Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills and attention to detail to deliver projects/deliverables on time while working effectively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Demonstrated flexibility, resiliency, and adaptability in the face of ambiguous situations and shifting priorities.
- Highly proficient in online tools such as, survey monkey, Microsoft office applications, and adobe acrobat tools.
- Passionate and committed to client service excellence and advancing OPB’s Advise & Project vision and strategies.
- Commitment to continuous learning and proactively seeking opportunities to develop new knowledge and innovative ideas.
- Change Management certification is an asset.
- Understanding of the public sector environment is an asset.
Compensation:
- The target hiring salary for this position is $115,000. A candidate’s placement in the range is based on skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity, with consideration for how the candidate is developing, meets, or exceeds the role’s requirements. This position is eligible to participate in OPB’s Annual Incentive Program, subject to its terms and conditions.
