We are seeking a seasoned system and application testing professional to provide oversight and technical leadership to the internal IT and external vendor test teams in all aspects of system and application testing support activities, such as test environment management, maintaining testing strategies/approaches, introducing and maintaining automated testing practices, organizing and controlling testing processes, developing Quality Assurance (QA) processes and procedures, ensuring all relevant testing documentations are accurate, complete, and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan, and manage testing support and protocols.
- Facilitate conversations with stakeholders to ensure IT standards and business demands are effectively aligned.
- Work closely within IT and IT related projects, by supporting the coordination, planning, controlling, and tracking of testing support activities.
- Support a continuous improvement cycle by looking for ways to improve the quality and efficiency of our testing processes, developing and implementing automated testing, test management support tools, shift-left testing practices and agile testing approaches.
- Work closely with the Application Support Analysts (ASA) to provide technical expertise, and guidance in the implementation of the best industry testing practices that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our current application testing environment.
- Assist the IT team with the planning, managing and executing system plans, by creating requisite scripting languages.
- Collaborate with other business units to provide organization-wide governance and guidance as needed to assist business driven QA activities such as User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Post Deployment Validation.
Key Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in information technology, computer sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum 5 years of practical experience in a systems/ application Quality Assurance (QA) role directly involved in the creation and execution of QA test plans.
- Knowledge of information technology hardware, software, and relevant methodologies for effective evaluation. Expertise in systems development methodologies, techniques, business management principles, information technology planning principles and practices, industry trends and applications of information technology.
- Awareness and practical application of systems development methodologies, techniques, business management principles, information technology planning principles and practices, industry trends related to information technology.
- Detailed knowledge of requirements gathering practices, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing; Strong knowledge of current software quality assurance best practices & methodologies.
- Experience with automated testing tools and creating repeatable, maintainable, automated test suites.
- Solid in-depth analytical skills to assess business requirements, identify the strengths and weaknesses of proposed solutions, and develop effective testing strategies.
- Possesses an excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and testing practices as applied in a Waterfall or Agile environment
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills needed to draft, develop, maintain and update comprehensive and complex strategies, processes, procedures and other technical documents and effectively liaise with varied internal and external audiences and/or stakeholders.
- Good time management and organizational skills and the ability to meet fixed deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships to build trust and confidence with clients/stakeholders. A commitment to delivering excellence in client services.
- An avid learner who finds ways to keep apprised of new technologies and industry standards and has the acumen to evaluate its potential impact to the organization. A hands-on technical lead who demonstrates a willingness and ability to look into the technical details.
- Resilient, flexible, and adaptable to ambiguity; demonstrates a fluidity to their approach when encountering concurrent and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
