We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Employer Data Analyst who is client focused with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can proficiently reconcile employment history and financial data. 


Key Responsibilities: 


•    Validating data involving detailed analysis of financial and employment records and calculations for contributions, salaries, service credits, determining the missing information/data required to correct member records
•    Contacting Employers by providing findings and analysis, collaborating with various Employer representatives to resolve the data discrepancies
•    Analyzing and requesting contributions where not received from the employers, following up with Employers until the file is reconciled
•    Ensuring OPB receives correct employee salaries/contributions during the current year and the member’s record is correct and up to date from the start of their employment, and making Pension Credit Date (PCD) adjustment when needed
•    Analyzing rejects, which involve different levels of complexity, determining reason for exception and determining the type of actions required to correct the client’s record; contacting Employers to inform them of findings and collaborating with them on resolution
•    Reviewing buyback reports for missing/incorrect/stopped buyback contributions, identifying appropriate actions and contacting Employers as required, collaborating with the Buyback team in order to resolve the buyback discrepancies
•    Maintaining data and comments in the process management system for timely follow-up with Employers
•    Coordinating escalation process for unresolved cases and delayed responses and working in collaboration with appropriate internal partners to reach resolution
•    Participate in projects/initiatives as required. 


Key Qualifications: 

 

•    Working knowledge of PBA, PSPP, OPP Pension Plan, and OPB established procedures, CPP, Income Tax Act to ensure that the data and calculations related to pension transactions are accurate and comply with legislation, processes and methods to correct and clear rejects (e.g. analyzes, investigates and corrects assigned rejects)
•    Excellent mathematical skills and knowledge of MS Excel to create formulas, spreadsheets, and calculations of pension contributions, service credits etc.
•    Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to liaise/communicate with employer contacts and OPB staff, discuss non-standard cases/problems and suggest solutions, request general information, provide training and assistance to new or temporary staff; clarify conflict in information (e.g. LOA dates) etc.
•    Very good written communications skills to prepare correspondence; produce reports and procedures in a clear, concise and understandable manner; maintain daily records of work completed, obstacles encountered, opportunities for improvement identified etc.
•    Analytical and problem-solving skills to calculate/verify service records and employer reported transactions and determine correctness of documentation and procedures; demonstrated attention to detail.
•    Analytical and problem-solving skills to determine the reason for errors; determine the type of actions to be taken, determine the information/data needed to correct member’s record, identify and resolve both standard and non-standard situations.
•    Client relationship management skills to build confidence and trust with employers with a commitment to excellence in client service.
•    Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and communicate appropriately with employer contacts and internal stakeholders.
